We have used the term anti-virus a lot throughout this series, and you are probably familiar with a specific one called McAffee. A free trial of McAffee comes with all PC computers, and although it works fine, it only provides generic anti-virus protection. As a business, you should have business class anti-virus that allows your MSP to have more visibility into the network. The business class anti-virus can do things such as alert your MSP if it gets turned off on a machine, if it is not working properly, or when a suspicious event occurs. Lastly, it provides your MSP with the ability to easily do a full network scan among all machines on the network. This helps determine the health of the network to make sure it has not been compromised. Business class anti-virus is important because it can be managed by a third-party, usually your MSP, to ensure your network’s security.
